Laura Simonetti : Mifflin County
Born and raised in State College, PA, Laura attended the Pennsylvania State University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in the Environmental Resource Management program in 1997. Shortly after graduating from Penn State, she began working in the Mifflin County Mapping Department (now the GIS Department) undertaking land use, metadata and transportation GIS projects. In 2001 she became the Assistant Director and now manages the GIS Department as the Director. Current activities in the Department include administering County 9-1-1 addresses, parcel maintenance, maintaining GIS partnerships with municipalities and businesses, maintaining ArcIMS County websites, and assisting individuals in the local and regional communities with their mapping needs. Two more recent projects in the Department are the development of an impervious surface GIS layer for Mifflin County, funded through DEP Growing Greener monies, as well as the creation of an updated emergency service street atlas. She serves on the PaMAP Advisory Board as well as on the PaMAGIC Board of Directors.
Tim Murphy : Columbia County
Mr. Murphy is presently serving as the E911/GIS Coordinator for Columbia County. He is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the county’s GIS. Mr. Murphy has been involved in the re-addressing of the county, conversion of paper tax maps and FEMA’s Flood Insurance Rate Maps into the GIS, a county stormwater study, a county recreation plan, and numerous other projects. Mr. Murphy received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography with a concentration in GIS and a minor in Computer Science from Bloomsburg University, where he has since served as adjunct faculty for one semester teaching GIS.
Jim Watson : Clinton County
Barry Hutchins Senior Network Engineer: Lycoming County
Barry has been employed by County of Lycoming from 1978 to the present. He has held numerous positions with the county but currently serves as a Senior Network Engineer of Information Services (on site at Department of Public Safety). Barry's many affiliations include membership of the County of Lycoming GIS Committee since 1994 and membership of Seda-Cog GIS Task Force since 1994.
