Practical Application of Airborne Sensor Technology for Pennsylvania Local Governments
Presentation Abstract
This presentation will focus on the application of digital sensor technology by Pennsylvania's local governments by discussing its practical use by The Cities of Allentown and Reading. These Cities are each leading regional efforts that utilize the latest in airborne sensor technology to support a broad variety of user applications that include infrastructure maintenance, emergency preparedness and response, and land use planning. The simultaneous collection and fusion of multispectral imagery (black and white, true color and Color Infrared) with Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) terrain elevation data provide for the development of geospatial datasets that support new, advanced geospatial operations such as 3-D GIS/visualization and flood plain analysis.
