Local GIS for Homeland Security
Presentation Abstract
How can GIS help protect us against terrorists? This presentation will take an in-depth look at local participation and coordination in homeland security initiatives. We will discuss risk assessment, preparedness, response and recovery using GIS and discuss the integration of Terrorism Early Warning (TEW) systems. To conclude, we will examine some case studies and open a discussion with the audience.

Chris Vanderheyden : BAE Systems
Chris Vanderheyden, Local/State Business Development Manager; BAE Systems ADR Mr. Vanderheyden is a Senior Business Development Manager for BAE Systems ADR where he is responsible for developing and designing GIS, remote sensing, and photogrammetric mapping projects specifically for local and state government agencies. Chris has over 16 years of experience in the industry and has a strong background in a wide range of geospatial related technologies. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Geography from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
