For my Master of Landscape Architecture at Utah State University, from 1995 through 1996, I learned and used Arc/Info and ArcView to analyze Cache County, Utah for potential 100 year landfill sites. My project was funded by the City of Logan, UT, Department of Environmental Health. I presented my findings to the City of Logan and successfully passed my thesis. My presentation would detail my study, all the necessary municipal interactions I performed to gather and catalogue my data, and describe my analysis process. I would use PowerPoint to show images of my key maps. I would also describe how my project has been used for professional and educational projects, including a professional engineering firm's landfill study commissioned by the City of Logan. To gather this information, I would interview the Director of Environmental Health and my former Landscape Architecture Professor, both of whom contributed to my original work, and have used my work for continuing studies.
